QRA Job: Intermediate Software Developer

Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia

Employment Type: Regular Full-Time

Who we are

QRA creates software that helps engineers validate system designs. Our tools help during the design phase. They reduce overall costs by finding errors early – when they are relatively easy to fix. QRA employees have formerly worked at Google, Microsoft, BlackBerry, CGI, and Ubisoft. Many have startup experience, and the CEO is a quantum physics professor! It’s a great team to work with and learn from.

Who we’re looking for

We are looking for friendly, curious people who are serious about being great software developers: people who are eager to share what they already know and who are hungry to keep learning and improving. Bonus points if you are fascinated and inspired by the incredible recent engineering developments in UAVs, self-driving cars, smart buildings, and medical systems.

Software at QRA is currently created using Java, the Spring Framework, C#/VSTO, and JavaScript. We work on both Windows and Linux. So experience in at least some of those technologies is a big plus. JIRA and git are also important at QRA, so some exposure to either or both of them is also helpful.

The QRA Lifestyle

We are proud of our culture at QRA. The lunchroom and Friday beers conversations are wide-ranging. You could find yourself talking about anything from quantum computing to type theory to bioethics: possibly in the same thread of conversation. Our company mascot – St. QRex – is a fun-loving dinosaur with a bit of an edge. We have a yearly celebration, St. QRex day, that includes a competition among (currently 3) teams at QRA. The leader of the winning team gets to keep the gnarly QRex trophy in their office until the next St. QRex day competition.

Other benefits include…

  • Competitive salaries
  • Standup desks
  • Family wellness services
  • Flexible work environment
  • Unlimited vacation days

If QRA sounds exciting and you love creating great software, please get in touch!

Sincerely,

Dean Tsaltas, CTO & Co-founder
