ReqWriter · June 2026

From Remediation to Continuous Authoring.

Rewrite suggestions used to wait for weak requirements. Auto-suggestions ran on anything scoring below 4. User-requested rewrites were capped at scores of 3 or lower. One threshold applied to every author and every project. With Continuous Authoring Assistance, that constraint is gone. Rewrite support is available throughout drafting and refinement, on any requirement at any score.

The Old Threshold: One Standard for Everyone.

A score that reads "good enough" for one program might fall short for another writing toward EARS compliance. Or for a team writing to a higher internal quality standard. Or for an author refining a requirement that already passed a quick scan.

Previously, ReqWriter enforced one threshold. Auto-suggestions ran on requirements scoring below 4. User-requested rewrites were capped at scores of 3 or lower. The same threshold applied whether an author was drafting a rough first cut or polishing a final pre-review version.

The constraint was a single judgment call applied across every author and every project. It treated rewrite assistance as remediation: a tool you reached for when a requirement was already weak.

The New Behavior: Any Score, Any Time.

Auto-suggestions now run on anything below 5. User-requested rewrites run on any requirement at any score. If an author wants to see how ReqWriter would tighten a 5-out-of-5 requirement, they can. If a team is writing toward an internal quality bar above the platform default, they can request rewrites on already-passing requirements.

The threshold no longer enforces what your team's quality standard has to be. Authors decide where rewrite assistance is useful. Teams decide what "good enough" means for their program.

From Remediation Tool to Daily Workflow.

This changes how ReqWriter fits into authoring. It is no longer the tool you reach for when a requirement scores low. It is available continuously, throughout drafting and refinement, as part of the author's daily writing environment.

For authors writing a rough first cut, ReqWriter suggests improvements as soon as the structure starts to form. For authors polishing a near-final requirement, ReqWriter is still available even after the score is already passing. The same engine, the same suggestions, the same review surface, now without a threshold gate in the way.

What This Unlocks.

Teams writing toward stricter standards — EARS compliance, internal quality criteria, audit-ready specifications — no longer hit a ceiling at the platform default. Authors get rewrite assistance at every stage of authoring, regardless of where a requirement started.

And programs with multiple quality tiers can use ReqWriter on every requirement, not just the weak ones. Continuous Authoring Assistance turns ReqWriter into the writing assistant for the entire requirement, from first draft to pre-review polish.
